CHRIS PLOOF
As a child, Chris Ploof was awestruck and profoundly inspired by craftspeople at a local living history museum in Massachusetts as they manipulated glass, tin and iron. Years later he started taking jewelry making classes and studied with many well-known artists and apprenticed under a master goldsmitih. Chris is the owner and principal designer at Chris Ploof Designs, a manufacturer of high-quality wedding rings and other jewelry specially created using laminated materials such as mokume-gane. He is a recipient of the Santa Fe Symposium® Ambassador Award, a two-time recipient of the Industry Leader Award and a three-time recipient of the Collaborative Research Award. Chris word of advice is, “Sometimes my best discoveries come from my biggest mistakes.”
