JASON MARCHIAFAVA

Jason is a third-generation artist and craftsman, following traditional hand methods of working with precious metals and gemstones. He studied hand engraving with many renowned Master hand engravers, including Bulino engraving techniques in Italy. He also studied intaglio engraving under the Chief Engraver of the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, learning the lost art of Bank Note Engraving. This was a powerful influence on his metalsmithing skills by defining quality, detail and discipline to execute projects of magnitude. Jason was also the former Master Craftsman of Tiffany & Company and later worked as the Director of Process Development and Technology in the historic Tiffany Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York. In 2017, Jason chose to pursue his personal dream of creating high-end jewelry of his own design and the publication of educational content for the jewelry industry. Currently he is a resident Master Craftsman at the New Approach School for Jewelers in Arrington, Tennessee. His studio is “J.Fava.”
