JOSE HESS

Master goldsmith, designer and gemologist, Jose Hess, of Jose Hess in New York City, is recognized worldwide for his award-winning work with diamonds. Jose began his studies at the GIA, but eventually earned his degree in jewelry design from the Mechanics Institute in New York City. He mentors and instructs at the Fashion Institute of Technology and works as a consultant in jewelry design and manufacturing improvements in the United States and abroad. Jose has been featured in Elle, In Style, Vogue and other various publications. His awards are notable and include seven DeBeers Diamonds International awards, eight DeBeers Diamonds Today awards, two International Gold Corp. Certificate of Merits and an American Gem Trade Association Spectrum award. Jose is a founding member of the American Jewelry Design Council, was the first American president of the CIBJO and has been a former president of the 24 Karat Club of New York City, the MJSA, and the Plumb Club.
