RYAN ROBERTS
Ryan Roberts was born in the small village of Chimayo in northern New Mexico, where his father was a sculptor and painter and his mother an illustrator and pianist. After his 16th birthday, Ryan secured an apprenticeship at a local jeweler’s studio and by the age of 19 was hired by one of Santa Fe’s most talented local jewelers, Mario Chavez. Ryan's reputation grew as one of the finest jewelers in Santa Fe. He opened his own studio gallery on the famous Canyon Road and continues to establish his presence internationally. Ryan won the Grand Prize in the 2013 Gold/Platinum category of the Saul Bell Design Awards, numerous AGTA Spectrum Awards and an MJSA Vision Award. “Competitions are an exercise in stretching beyond your comfort zone whether you win or you don’t. Realize that just by entering you've already won,” Ryan says, “because entering has given you a reason to produce your best work.”
